For the first time in the garment design history, the author does not fit in the fashion tendency of fabric and silhouette. Julija Zileniene has created the garment collection and adorned a woman and even her surroundings.

Lamps, chandeliers, a table, a cupboard, jewellery boxes, mirrors and lots of amiable table decoration articles – napkin rings, trays, glasses, plates – everything is created from wood and enlightened by a magic glittering of crystals.

“Interior design has always been appealing to me” – J. Zilėniene says. “Each artist is looking for new expression forms”. It is she who has discovered them. Her overall conception – garments and interior details – are united by the sparkling of the world known Swarovski crystals.

Why? The reason is that the existence of a single pure material – natural or synthetic - is impossible in the modern world. The germs of nature move in step with human ingenuity. Genuine wood and synthetic crystals are reflected in Julija’s creation. “We walk on a wooden floor and clean our teeth with a plastic toothbrush” – explains J. Zileniene.

Therefore, the furniture and the pieces of interior designed by Julija and made from the Western African red pear and walnut are decorated with shimmering crystals. They are not ornaments but functional things applied for the people who appreciate the value of art. These things would be passed to new generations as inheritance.

What was the start? Unusual cases have a simple start. “One day I received a call from a wood carving jeweller and he offered me to create something worth interest” – Julija recalls her acquaintance with the artist Rytis Zaveckas.

He implemented not only the “wooden” Julija’s idea in furniture and interior details. Designer’s garments are adorned with jewellery and buttons polished by the artist. Julia has also designed purses with wooden ornaments. All these pieces of art create warmth and a diligent work of “Crystal Creation” - Swarovski subsidiary in Lithuania - make all things sparkle.
